Human Resources

• Oversee, manage, and participate in the administration of benefits, upkeep of the compensation structure, delivery and maintenance of key HR focused training, the maintenance of VSAC’s job classification system, job descriptions, budget planning and reporting, new hire related functions, and Human Resource related policies and procedures.
• Provide leadership and direction to the Human Resources staff in the performance of their duties and streamline HR processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
• Be a resource for all staff; management and line staff; on HR related issues. Answer questions and provide appropriate guidance and coaching to enable staff to be productive in their roles.
• Provide leadership and consulting to senior management on HR related topics including risks and mitigation strategies, new and innovative HR topics and trends and other applicable HR related topics.
• Appropriately assess the competitiveness of benefits and salary plans against relevant comparable companies, industries and markets.
• Participate and at times oversee and plan various employee events.
• Perform and/or oversee any HR related federal reporting and conduct or oversee HR audits to ensure compliance.
• Maintain current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, reporting requirements, current practices, new development and applicable laws regarding human resources. Act as the primary liaison with employment attorneys or consults with legal counsel as appropriate.
• Establish and maintain a meaningful employment statistics and reporting package to inform departmental practices and executive strategies.
• Perform other duties as required.

Director of Human Resources

Controller

• Prepare, monitor, and analyze monthly and annual financial reports for the CEO and management team and communicate key trends and findings.
• Review bank, credit card, and cash reconciliations.
• Prepare and post journal entries and ensure all transactions for the period are accounted for.
• Oversee accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) processes and assist with payroll processing.
• Review significant variances and provide recommendations on areas that should be addressed.
• Ensure accurate and timely filing of federal, state, and local income tax returns and other business-related filings.
• Generate monthly reports that include A/R, A/P, and WIP.
• Develop the annual budget, provide monthly and quarterly analysis of the budget to actual, and make recommendations based on company performance.
• Work with the accounting team on the audit and assist outside accountants with preparation of annual financial statements and tax returns.
• Create and maintain financial controls and procedures for the accounting department.
• Provide financial analysis and projections to leadership to guide strategic decisions and advise the CEO on financial trends.
• Present financial information at management meetings and provide financial guidance.
• Provide mentorship to the accounting team, lead regular accounting team meetings, and conduct timely performance evaluations.
• Optimize the utilization of Great Plains systems to make accounting processes as efficient as possible.
• Reports to the CEO; manages a five-member accounting team.

Operations

• Reports to President.
• Direct and manage activities of the Construction Division by implementing policies and procedures to achieve objectives.
• Align with Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) and continuous improvement.
• Lead, manage, and hold accountable all construction operations team members.
• Own execution of all construction jobs, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to quality standards.
• Drive profitability by managing budgets, cost controls, labor productivity, and material/equipment utilization.
• Forecast and allocate resources in collaboration with project managers, field operations manager, and fabrication shops.
• Oversee field operations and support functions by leading VDC Manager, Field Operations Manager, Senior Project Manager, Purchasing, and Sheet Metal & Piping Fabrication Shops.
• Implement and improve operational processes to increase efficiency, quality, safety, and compliance.
• Develop and grow leaders through coaching, feedback, and professional development planning.
• Collaborate with leadership including Sales/Business Development and the Leadership Team to align operational execution with company goals.
• Ensure proper employee performance management and timely reporting to HR.
• Foster and protect a respectful, harassment-free, and inclusive work environment.

Operations Manager

Accountant

• Oversee day-to-day finance and budget operations, including accounts payable/receivable and bank reconciliations
• Manage and maintain accurate accounting for operating, designated, restricted, and endowment funds
• Prepare and present timely financial reports for Trustees, Commission on Finance, and Executive Council; attend meetings or brief chairs as needed
• Lead the annual budgeting process for the Diocese and selected affiliated entities
• Compile and submit annual financial reports required by The Episcopal Church
• Support preparation of grant proposals, collaborate with grantees to manage funds, track expenses, and complete required reporting
• Coordinate the annual external audit of Diocesan financial accounts
• Produce ad hoc financial reports and analysis at the request of Diocesan leadership
• Serve as the primary liaison to the Diocese’s third-party investment manager
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, auditing standards, and internal control policies
• Provide administrative support to senior staff, including mail, phone, database updates, and welcoming occasional visitors
• Assist treasurers, clergy, and lay leaders across congregations and Diocesan entities with financial guidance and support
• Collaborate with and support the part-time Chief Financial Officer, including preparation and review of reports
