About the role
- Supports daily Human Resources administrative operations, including recruiting, onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, and HR compliance.
- Ensures all employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with labor laws and managing essential personnel data.
- Provides accurate preparation, documentation, distribution, and reconciliation of payroll and the administration of the payroll system.
- Reviews the computation of pay and associated deductions for accuracy.
- Prepares required tax filings and other reporting for review by the Director of Finance and Accounting.
- Supports new hire onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Coordinates background checks, I-9s, and required documentation.
- Responds to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Assists Finance and Accounting with annual financial audits, workers’ compensation audits, and payroll-related reconciliations.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in an HR or administrative role.
- Basic knowledge of HR practices and employment laws.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- HRIS experience (Paylocity or similar HR platforms preferred).
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in payroll processing.
- Multi-state payroll processing experience preferred but not required.
- Very detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with timesheets and confidence using payroll systems.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
