About the role
- Drive execution on a high-impact roadmap. Work with your team to turn product specs into features that directly shape how thousands of companies communicate with their customers every day.
- Lead and grow a strong engineering team. Coach and develop engineers at various levels, attract and hire top talent, and foster a culture of ownership, learning, and high standards.
- Partner cross-functionally. Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers and Data Analysts to define what to build and why. Represent your team's priorities and tradeoffs in planning and strategy discussions.
- Own technical quality. Guide the team through architectural decisions, champion code quality and performance, and ensure the team is building for reliability and scale in a complex, real-time, multi-platform application.
- Contribute to engineering leadership. As a member of Front's engineering management team, help shape engineering-wide initiatives, processes, and culture.
- Embrace AI as a force multiplier to enhance engineering workflows
- Support the integration of AI-powered features into the core product experience, partnering with the AI team
Requirements
- 3+ years of engineering management experience, including recruiting, mentoring, and retaining high-performing engineers.
- A strong track record of leading teams that deliver complex, ambiguous projects with high quality and on time
- Clear, structured thinking and excellent communication skills — you can articulate tradeoffs, align stakeholders, and make pragmatic decisions.
- Experience with real-time, high-performance, or multi-product platforms
- A deep product mindset — you care about making a complex application feel simple and intuitive for the end user
- Technical fluency in modern web technologies (e.g., TypeScript, React, Node.js) and the ability to engage meaningfully in architectural and implementation discussions
- Experience with Electron, React Native, or rich text editors
- Experience at a fast-growing B2B SaaS company
- Experience building products in the customer support or customer communication space
- Strong design sense and a passion for user experience
