About the role

  • Assist in developing a communications plan for upcoming campaigns
  • Support the Communications team in creating engaging and informative content for various platforms, including social media, event invitations, reports, newsletters, and more
  • Assist with facilitating our organization's social media calendar, including scheduling posts and engaging with our social media audience
  • Help create content for LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms
  • Provide support in drafting, editing, and distributing press releases under the guidance of the Communications team
  • Assist with the layout of internal and external communications utilizing our email marketing service provider
  • Conduct research on industry trends, best practices, and current events to help inform decision-making
  • Assist in planning and executing special events by providing support with tasks such as invitation design, and /or vendor communications
  • Provide administrative support and assist with special projects as assigned by the Communications team

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a California community college
  • Pursuing an associate's degree or certificate in Communications, Marketing, or a related field of Journalism
  • Strong writing and copyediting skills
  • Experience working with graphic design and photography
  • Social media communication experience
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deliverables
  • Excellent computer skills in standard office applications, specifically in MS Word, PowerPoint, and web browsers
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to take projects from inception to completion and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
