About the role
- Assist in developing a communications plan for upcoming campaigns
- Support the Communications team in creating engaging and informative content for various platforms, including social media, event invitations, reports, newsletters, and more
- Assist with facilitating our organization's social media calendar, including scheduling posts and engaging with our social media audience
- Help create content for LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms
- Provide support in drafting, editing, and distributing press releases under the guidance of the Communications team
- Assist with the layout of internal and external communications utilizing our email marketing service provider
- Conduct research on industry trends, best practices, and current events to help inform decision-making
- Assist in planning and executing special events by providing support with tasks such as invitation design, and /or vendor communications
- Provide administrative support and assist with special projects as assigned by the Communications team
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a California community college
- Pursuing an associate's degree or certificate in Communications, Marketing, or a related field of Journalism
- Strong writing and copyediting skills
- Experience working with graphic design and photography
- Social media communication experience
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deliverables
- Excellent computer skills in standard office applications, specifically in MS Word, PowerPoint, and web browsers
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to take projects from inception to completion and work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
