About the role
- Role involves maintaining and enhancing production models for Fortitude Re's Inforce block; supporting and leading modeling capabilities for strategic planning; collaborating with risk, investments, assumptions, capital management, financial reporting and controllership teams.
- Redesign and automate actuarial workflows; improve efficiency, accuracy, internal capabilities.
- Develop/test new modeling capabilities for strategic planning and business decision-making.
- Conduct peer reviews.
- Prepare reports and documentation for regulatory filings, audits, and internal reviews; support governance processes.
- Analyze data and trends; respond to ad-hoc requests from senior management.
- Salary range: base pay between $110k-$160k, plus annual bonus and benefits.
Requirements
- Fellow of Society of Actuaries (FSA) or Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) with 3+ years of experience post ASA required. International equivalent actuarial designation will be accepted.
- 4+ years of insurance experience related to modeling, pricing, valuation, or risk management required, with EBS or Solvency II experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Python, or similar programming languages (R Studio, C++).
- Experience with database applications and business intelligence tools.
- Experience with AXIS or similar actuarial projection or valuation software.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to adopt a creative approach to solving complex process problems.
- Ability to manage multiple work assignments and meet time commitments.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
