About the role

  • Monitoring pipeline data to ensure adequate flow across the province
  • Controlling the flow of gas in the pipeline system
  • Analyzing and responding to alarms and potential problems
  • Producing various daily, weekly, and monthly reports for management
  • Coordinating and analyzing field procedures for pipeline construction, maintenance, and repairs
  • Upgrading SCADA system software
  • Diagnosing SCADA system problems and initiating repair procedures

Requirements

  • Diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution in a directly related field (e.g. Power Engineering, Gas Processing)
  • Completion of a Red Seal Journeyman Trade in a related field
  • Five (5) years directly related experience
  • Ability to pass Operator Qualification Training internal certification
  • Working knowledge of computer systems operations, environment and peripherals and various applications software (SAP & suite of MS Office products)
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge in pipeline hydraulics, gas (fluids) processes, pipeline operations, field equipment, compression and control systems, and thermodynamics
  • Ability to organize and evaluate data and make related, logical decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and work under pressure in a high-stress environment.
