Support Engineer

• Provides technical support to the end users at FortisBC.
• Creates and maintains an Infrastructure Roadmap.
• Performs IS infrastructure capacity planning and technology evaluations.
• Develops long-term technology lifecycle strategy for IS infrastructure domains.
• Identifies and prioritizes IS infrastructure initiatives.
• Prepares business cases for project funding approval.
• Manages a portfolio of IS Infrastructure projects.
• Develops communication strategy regarding infrastructure upgrade/change plans.
• Analyzes and processes complex IS infrastructure requests.

Technical Analyst 4 – Ansible, Linux

Controller

• Monitoring pipeline data to ensure adequate flow across the province
• Controlling the flow of gas in the pipeline system
• Analyzing and responding to alarms and potential problems
• Producing various daily, weekly, and monthly reports for management
• Coordinating and analyzing field procedures for pipeline construction, maintenance, and repairs
• Upgrading SCADA system software
• Diagnosing SCADA system problems and initiating repair procedures

Gas Controller

• Provide frontline and advanced technical support to our end users
• Administers and completes advanced technology requests
• Performs departmental deskside/helpdesk functions including problem receiving, recording, and tracking
• Administers departmental software and hardware inventory records
• Perform upgrades, installations, and preventive maintenance tasks
• Responds to client calls and incident tickets for support
• Research advanced end-user solutions for hardware and software
• Administer software licensing
• Provide advanced support for mobile and smart devices
• Repair computer software and/or hardware and arrange with external vendors for repairs
• Assist senior staff on various projects
• Create device images and software packages for deployment
• Set-up/deliver PC equipment and recycle excess surplus equipment
• Track work performed in problem management system, prepare progress reports, administer and maintain corporate workstation assets.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the company’s computer systems
• Administer multiple resources, task breakdown, and delegation and set milestones.
