Estimator

• Support the bidding process by developing and preparing project or service cost estimates
• Coordinate overall estimates and proposals with assigned capture teams
• Present periodic and final submittals to regional managers and corporate representatives
• Identify project solutions and estimate resources for simple and complex projects
• Prepare detailed cost estimates using HCSS software and assist with proposal submittal documents
• Assess and communicate project risks based on proposal documents
• Coordinate quantity takeoffs from project plans and documents
• Apply measurement and payment terms to estimate development
• Review drawings and specifications and identify areas requiring clarification
• Apply equipment and labor rates accurately to estimates
• Identify competitive advantages over other bidders
• Obtain competitive quotes for materials and subcontracted services
• Prepare high-level proposal schedules using critical-path scheduling software
• Maintain updated cost-information databases
• Attend pre-bid walks and determine technical project needs based on site restrictions
• Assemble bid files containing estimate-development information
• Interface with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors
• Complete bids, estimates, and related tasks by required deadlines
• Mentor estimating staff and interns
• Perform additional assignments as directed
