Define requirements, product design, tooling, validation testing, and launch in assembly plant during product lifecycle
Generate and execute technical solutions for exterior lighting components to support new vehicle programs
Perform complex engineering evaluation analysis
Work cross-functionally with suppliers, optics, software, studio, purchasing, manufacturing, and quality to implement cost savings and product improvements
Support prototype and production build activities and production release of systems, subsystems, components, and features
Balance attributes such as cost, weight, complexity, and timing
Core requirement and technology development
Communicate information to and from internal and external organizations and lead team meetings
Travel as required, including international
Requirements
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Optical, or Software Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
2+ years of related automotive and/or lighting applications experience (inclusive of professional, co-op, and internship positions)
Ability to travel domestic and international
Master’s Degree or other Advanced Degree (preferred)
Familiarity with the engineering design of exterior lighting components (preferred)
Familiarity with Design For Six Sigma process (preferred)
Experience with DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and ISO standards (preferred)
Knowledge of global lighting regulations (preferred)
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Candidates expected to either reside within commuting distance of Dearborn, MI or be able to relocate independently without financial assistance from the company
