About the role
- Lead the Software Engineering function in Ford Pro Tech India, with oversight of 150+ Software Engineers
- Ensure quality hiring, sponsor Communities of Practice, drive continuous reskilling, ensure fair performance reviews, and manage a team of Managers
- Globally responsible for Architecture and Engineering decisions and execution for a Product group; act as Product Group Anchor
- Provide technology leadership to 7–10 product teams and ensure technology roadmap addresses critical business outcomes and Product KPIs
- Provide technical direction guiding teams to build and deliver foundational cloud capabilities
- Work closely with Product Group Managers to include continuous technical improvement in product roadmaps
- Collaborate with other Engineering Managers/Product Line Anchors to reduce complexity across the portfolio and enhance interoperability between services
- Clearly communicate technology strategy and vision to internal/external stakeholders
- Provide thought leadership for development, structure, technology, and tools used within Ford Pro
- Design and deliver industry-leading products and services to maximize value and productivity for commercial customers
- Be involved in full-stack development and implement end-to-end components of proprietary software products
- Innovate and operate with an iterative, agile and user-centric perspective
- Ensure engineering excellence (best practices and quality) within product line and implement robust CI/CD processes and development methodologies
- Identify and remove/mitigate risks and blockers to product delivery and assess overall product health to prompt key decisions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field; Master’s degree desirable
- Experience 10+ years with progressive responsibilities in Software Engineering, Architecture and Agile Framework
- Must be able to operationalize and assist teams with abstract technology concepts
- Strong demonstrated competencies on cloud and digital platforms
- Strong communication, collaborative, and influencing skills
- Proven ability to work closely with senior leadership
- Strong personal presence and capabilities to resolve technical concerns
- Experience with cloud services and platform knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to drive development of highly technical technology services and capabilities
- Experience with Lean methodology & eXtreme Programming
- Demonstrated understanding and ability to drive API economy and solutions
- Demonstrated understanding and ability to drive highly available consumer ready Internet properties and technical platforms
- Experience collaborating with engineers, designers, and product owners
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt your communication style to the audience
- Ability to work collaboratively and navigate complex decision making in a rapidly changing environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to teach others
