About the role
- Drive functional issue resolution between functional engineering teams. (Exterior/Interior Systems & Structures, IPTSE, EE Hardware and Underbody Systems, etc.) to support program milestones.
- Drive cross-functional issue resolution (program, finance, quality, attribute, manufacturing, STA, suppliers, etc.) to support program milestones.
- Drive system design efficiency, finding solutions to reduce complexity, vehicle cost and/or vehicle weight.
- Drive Design reviews using live CAD with focus on system or cross-functional system optimization.
- Manage system cost status with D&R / finance teams by reviewing engineering analysis of design changes, ensuring efficient vehicle solution is being brought forward to program.
- Report in a weekly basis program status and progress to leadership team.
- Lead escalation of issues when needed.
- Support functional sign-off and compatibility reviews to deliver all Program Milestones on-time with completed metrics. Provide issue resolution updates to the Integration and Program teams.
- Ensure alignment of engineering resources to budget for all phases of the program.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- +3 years of experience in Body Structures, Seats Structures and Underbody Systems.
- Strong fundamentals and working knowledge of GPDS engineering milestones & GPDS process.
- Experience in the Cost Setting Process and Functional Led Cost/Appearance Delivery Process a benefit.
- Systems Engineering approach.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills (open, clear, and inclusive).
- Outstanding leadership skills with demonstrated ability to deliver results.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple issues effectively and efficiently.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload managing immediate and future needs.
- Ability to build strong effective relationships with cross functional teams (Program, Purchasing, Finance, Engineering).
