About the role
- Drive engineering teams towards containment and resolution of issues raised from design reviews, virtual builds, and build events to protect the program’s schedule to prototype build dates, start of production, and ongoing production.
- Maintain supplier relationships in collaboration with Supply Chain team to ensure timely deliveries for build events
- Monitor work outputs and deliverables for potential systems and vehicle incompatibilities and opportunities for greater integration, velocity, and collaboration.
- Ensure problems are transparent and risks are identified and proactively ensure that risk mitigating actions are ongoing within relevant engineering teams
- Set agenda for key decisions to be made at each meeting to eliminate bottlenecks and retire risks
- Support key decisions working cross-functionally across engineering, finance, and strategy to reach the right conclusions
Requirements
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field
- 5+ years of experience in an automotive product development environment
- Experience with Catia V5/6, Confluence, and Jira applications
- In depths technical knowledge, solid understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and design principles specific to exterior systems, including trim, front end structural and assembly, glazing, lighting, ADAS sensor integrations, etc.
- Detailed knowledge of the product development process from design, development, validation, and industrialization
- Proven experience driving progress on multiple projects across multiple locations and timelines.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, ability to analyze complex problems, identify solutions, and make informed decisions under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
