About the role
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in design, manufacturing, and quality to proactively identify, analyze, and mitigate potential failure modes, thereby enhancing product reliability and customer satisfaction.
- Develop, implement, and maintain FMA processes and methodologies, including DFMEAs (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), boundary diagrams, P-diagrams, RCLs, and Interface Tables.
- Lead and participate in FMA workshops and reviews with cross-functional teams to identify potential failure modes and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Integrate FMA activities into the product development lifecycle, from concept to launch.
- Monitor and analyze FMA process implementation to identify trends, prioritize risks, and drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to implement FMA recommendations and ensure their effectiveness.
- Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in FMA and reliability engineering.
- Foster a culture of proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement within the organization.
- Travel up to 10% within North America.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering, math, science or related.
- 3 or more years of experience in engineering or science, with a focus on FMA, reliability engineering, or related areas
- Experience with problem-solving tools and techniques (e.g., 8D, 5Why, Ishikawa diagrams).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Science Engineering.
- 5 or more years of experience in engineering or science, with a focus on FMA, reliability engineering, or related areas
- Demonstrated experience in automotive body design and release.
- A passion for improving product quality, demonstrated by effectively communicating and presenting quality data.
- Knowledge of GPDS (Global Product Development System).
- Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt (DMAIC or DFSS).
- Experience in a Quality and/or testing organization.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., AIAG FMEA Handbook v1, IATF 16949) and FMA tools like Magic Draw.
