About the role
- Enhance the robustness and reliability of driveline products
- Lead development and refinement of requirements
- Correlate test methods to customer duty cycles
- Oversee technical design review sign-off process

- Own Implementation of new Technical Design Review Process for robustness in signoff (Peer Review)
- Maintain, improve and create Core documents with input from Tech Specialist - DFMEA, RCL, Boundary Diagram, Core DV, etc.
- Develop Customer Correlated Duty Cycles for more meaningful component testing and improved reliability with input from connected data and TDE duty cycles team
- Streamline requirements and core docs for engineering efficiency
- Author new systems to components requirements cascade for more robust upfront design
- Demonstrated ability to navigate and thrive in ambiguous situations
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in uncertain environments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders effectively
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 5+ number of years of experience in fastening engineering
- The D&R Engineer is expected to understand and effectively utilize product check-in/check-out processes, version control, data release, and change management within Ford’s PLM ecosystem
- 10+ years of experience in fastening engineering (preferred)
