About the role
- Join our team as a Design and Release Engineer for the Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) Rear Axle.
- Hold critical engineering responsibility for a leading drivetrain system within the industry.
- Contribute to superior performance and segment-defining capabilities of the vehicles.
- Collaborate with skilled engineering teams and operators at both assembly and component plants.
- Optimize existing designs for streamlined assembly.
- Maximize performance expectations while spearheading new design implementations.
- Leverage onsite dynamometer cells for comprehensive testing and analysis of axles.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in automotive engineering
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (even better)
- Demonstrated experience with performance and durability testing, including both dynamometer and in-vehicle validation (even better)
- Robust understanding and application of Systems Engineering principles (even better)
- Familiarity with Ford's Design and Release Tools, such as WERS, Teamcenter, FEDE, ED&T, and processes including DVP, DFMEA, Quality History, and Warranty Analysis (even better)
- Proven strong problem-solving abilities and a creative approach to developing innovative engineering solutions (even better)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant engineering software tools for simulation, analysis, and modeling (e.g., CAD, CAE software) (even better)
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills (even better)
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment and effectively collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams (even better)
- Ability to travel occasionally (estimated less than 10%) (even better).
