About the role
- Lead the creation and implementation of oil testing specifications and requirements.
- Lead testing at suppliers for the testing and analysis of oil performance.
- Lead tribology laboratory, maintain equipment and improve lab testing capabilities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal customers in Research and Product Development, to support production or warranty related actions or studies.
- Represent Ford Motor Company or conferences and symposiums.
- Deliver transferable work products to the Product Development Team that is applicable for a production program.
Requirements
- Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree
- 6+ years of experience in tribology, oil or hydraulic fluid related position.
- 2+ years of experience directly related to the development or testing of fluid related properties.
- 2+ years of experience coordinate fluids testing for common testing properties.
- Hands-on test experience related to fluid development and prove out.
- Deep experience with eDrivetrain/Transmission/Driveline operation, design tolerances and components that experience wear and component failures related to lubrication or the lack of.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to turn test data into clear decisions and recommendations.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively as part of a diverse team.
