About the role
- Architect, design, and develop robust electrical and software systems for vehicle access and infotainment domains.
- Lead the integration of embedded systems with cloud-based services and infrastructure, ensuring secure and scalable solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, hardware designers, cybersecurity specialists, and cloud architects to define system requirements and specifications.
- Evaluate new technologies and industry trends to drive innovation in vehicle access and in-car user experiences.
- Ensure system designs meet rigorous performance, safety, and cybersecurity standards.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the product development lifecycle, from concept to deployment.
- Develop feature specifications, feature Failure Mode Avoidance documentation, feature verification plan, etc.
- Provide product support, evaluating quality and aiding triage issues to determine root cause.
- Lead trade-off discussions with multi-functional teams.
- Communicate complex systems, issues and resolutions in a clear and concise manner.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in the automotive or a similar industry, specializing in highly complex electrical software systems.
- Demonstrated 1 year expertise in the architecture and design of infotainment and embedded systems.
- Minimum 1yr experience with cloud systems architecture, services, and integration patterns.
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science (even better).
- Experience with digital car keys, Phone-as-a-Key technology, or other advanced vehicle access solutions (even better).
- Proficiency with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet (even better).
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices as applied to vehicle access systems (even better).
- Experience working in Agile development environments (even better).
