About the role
- Lead and own FCSD Communications strategy and activities
- Elevate FCSD’s profile inside and outside of Ford and demonstrate the critical role the business unit plays in differentiating Ford from the competition and Ford’s overall business success.
- Educate key stakeholders – employees, dealers, media – about how FCSD is a vital profit driver for Ford and laser focused on improving customer service and growing its business.
- Build and maintain relationships with key media outlets, industry influencers, and internal stakeholders to enhance FCSD’s profile and reinforce its position as a strategic growth engine and cornerstone of customer satisfaction and brand loyalty for Ford.
- Bring to life some of the key drivers of FCSD’s focus areas, including technician training and recruitment; Remote Experiences / Mobile Service and Vehicle Personalization, among other areas.
- Be the primary contact for media inquiries related to FCSD initiatives.
- Support FCSD Internal all Hands meetings, working with employee communications team and Coordinate with global FCSD teams to help develop content for FCSD town halls
- Analyze metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and make recommendations for improvement
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in media communications related to FCSD key business priorities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or equivalent education, training, or experience is required
- A minimum of 5-8 years of related experience
- Excellent oral, written, and digital communication skills
- Proven success in building and implementing communication strategies
- Strategic thinker, creative, willing to take risks, collaborative, high standards of excellence, highly focused and organized
- Ability to lead and work collaboratively with a cross-functional team in fast moving situations and environments
- Active participation in and knowledge of social media and social networking sites and tools
- A can-do attitude and a sense of urgency in this rapidly changing environment
- Knowledge of the automotive business with an ability to develop strategies and stories
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills, with internal and external contacts
- Superior problem-solving, decision-making and project management skills
- Experience developing communications strategy to build reputation and support functional/operational business objectives and priorities
- Demonstrated record of building strong relationships, trust and confidence with media and prominent influencers and stakeholders.
