About the role
- Drive 3rd Gen Profitability: Own the strategy and implementation of cost-reduction programs in partnership with Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing to ensure best-in-class vehicle attributes while maximizing long-term company returns.
- Strategic Opportunity Sizing: Support new product launches and initiatives, including early-stage pricing, packaging, and business development deals structuring to enhance product contribution margins.
- First Principles Analysis: Lead business case analysis on complex vehicle product attributes and user experience changes, enabling business unit leaders to make informed decisions that impact the end customer.
- Metric Ownership: Establish and manage the key metrics underpinning EV revenue and gross margin performance. You will break down customer revenue and COGS to the unit figure across the full breadth of the vehicle program income statement.
- Executive Storytelling: Deliver critical updates and high-quality presentations to executive stakeholders, up to and including Board of Directors-level materials. You will distill complex financial data into actionable insights and compelling narratives.
- Analytical Excellence: Deploy best-in-class data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI) to ensure continuous availability of information versus static reporting.
- Market Dynamics: Stay updated on global market trends and competitive dynamics to refine financial strategies and GTM (go-to-market) purchase experience strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Economics or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- 6-10+ years in investment banking, consulting, or operational finance within a fast-paced environment that has undergone significant technological transformation.
- Direct experience in automotive hardware, consumer electronics, or complex manufacturing. You should understand how physical components translate to financial models.
- Expert modeling skills (Excel) and experience with data visualization tools. Experience with enterprise management & planning systems a plus.
- A demonstrated ability to critically evaluate opportunities and risks in financials, bringing a first-principles approach to solve ambiguous challenges.
- Exceptional presentation skills; the ability to be concise and fluent in executive-level communication.
- A track record of challenging the status quo and taking the initiative to deliver continuous improvement across all facets of the job.
- MBA, in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing finance teams.
- Experience in a scaling technology or hardware company where you built a "followership" and elevated organizational standards.
