About the role

  • Drive assessment and validation of manufacturing feasibility at identified supplier sites
  • Execute the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Quality Planning Process (APQP)
  • Use available data, metrics, and business plans to drive future sourcing decisions ensuring improved future quality
  • Implement commodity-specific business plans to ensure suppliers exceed launch, quality, capacity, warranty metrics, and vehicle delivery
  • Lead on-site troubleshooting and corrective actions for emergency supplier situations
  • Lead cross-functional decisions with Ford and supplier leadership to drive resolution of open issues
  • Implement actions to ensure zero vehicle losses from suppliers
  • Principal for on-site troubleshooting and corrective actions for emergency supplier situations
  • Lead adherence to Ford standards (e.g., Q1)
  • May be required to be onsite 4 or more days per week for candidates in commuting distance to a Ford hub location

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical / manufacturing aptitude
  • 5+ years’ experience in one or more manufacturing processes (Casting, Machining, Forging, Stamping, Welding, Plastic/Rubber Molding, Brazing, Sintering, Automated/Manual Assembly, Controls Automation programming, Paint, Chroming, SMC)
  • Ability to develop and present materials to leadership on short notice
  • Ability to lead resolution of manufacturing, quality, and/or capacity issues on-site with suppliers
  • Ability to travel in the US, Canada, and Mexico approximately 75% of the time
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (preferred)
  • Manufacturing, maintenance, and quality operations experience (preferred)
