About the role
- Onboard, mentor, and develop Pre-Sales team members through active coaching and performance monitoring
- Identify skill gaps and recommend targeted training to build capability
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning
- Support KPI monitoring including win rates, deal velocity, proposal quality, and margin protection
- Demonstrate exemplary behaviours and uphold established technical standards
- Lead customer discovery meetings to uncover technical and business requirements
- Design and document compelling technical solutions including network diagrams, configurations, and architecture overviews
- Lead or co-lead RFP responses with technically robust and commercially competitive proposals
- Provide quality assurance on proposals, commercial documentation, and technical designs
- Support strategic bid/no-bid decision-making
- Develop playbooks, templates, and best practice repositories to standardise approaches
- Work with Product and Technical teams to create discovery, scoping, and solution design templates
- Ensure smooth sale-to-delivery transitions through clear documentation and handovers
- Conduct win/loss analysis to continuously improve positioning and delivery
- Mentor the team on proposal writing, solution design, and customer engagement techniques
- Provide product feedback to influence roadmap and new offerings
- Ensure all solutions are technically viable, properly scoped, and commercially sound
- Build customer trust through a consultative, customer-centric approach
- Validate that solutions align to business outcomes and deliver measurable value
Requirements
- Extensive technical expertise in solution design and delivery, particularly Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, cybersecurity, and infrastructure solutions
- Deep understanding of managed IT and cybersecurity service delivery models for SME and mid-market customers
- Significant pre-sales experience winning complex deals and designing solutions aligned to business outcomes
- Strong commercial acumen including MSP pricing models, margin management, and deal structuring
- Proven track record producing compelling proposals, business cases, and competitive RFP responses
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to simplify complex concepts
- Consultative, customer-centric approach with proven ability to build trust with stakeholders
- Demonstrated people leadership capability with ability to mentor, develop, and motivate team members
- Approachable style that supports less experienced colleagues in developing their capabilities
- Previous experience in a Pre-Sales Team Lead or Senior Pre-Sales Consultant role (desirable)
- Experience working within a high-growth IT Managed Services Provider (desirable)
- Industry certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, security frameworks) (desirable)
