About the role
- Planning, design and deployment of high‑performance network environments (switching, routing, LAN, WLAN, VPN)
- Design, setup and operation of modern next‑gen firewalls (e.g., Sophos XGS)
- Implementation of security standards such as hardening, Zero Trust, port security, NAC and RBAC
- Administration of heterogeneous Windows and Linux server landscapes, Active Directory and virtualization
- Planning, site survey and operation of professional WLAN infrastructures (e.g., ARUBA Central)
- Proactive monitoring as well as analysis and remediation of complex network and infrastructure incidents (2nd/3rd level)
- Preparation of clear system and project documentation and structured handovers to ongoing IT operations
- Close coordination with project management and sales; technical consulting for customers
Requirements
- Completed technical training (e.g., Fachinformatiker/IT specialist), a degree in IT or an equivalent qualification
- Several years of practical experience in IT security and firewall operations (2nd/3rd level), ideally with Sophos XGS
- Solid knowledge of network administration (switching, routing, VLANs), preferably with ARUBA Central
- Experience in server administration (Windows Server, Active Directory) and virtualization (VMware/Hyper‑V)
- Proficient in professional WLAN management and AP design concepts
- Analytical, structured, self‑reliant and quality‑oriented
- Confident, service‑oriented manner; able to engage with customers and colleagues on equal terms; very good German and good English skills
- Enjoy working in varied customer environments and hold a Class B driving licence
- Motivated to continuously advance through training and certifications (e.g., Sophos XGS, Aruba Central, Microsoft)
