About the role
- The Payroll Tax Manager performs payroll tax-related functions, including tax notice research, audit, and resolution.
- Fields payroll tax compliance questions from internal and external stakeholders.
- Reviews payroll reporting in a multi-site, multi-state, high-volume environment.
- Provides excellent customer service to managers and associates.
- Set up income tax withholding, unemployment, and other employer payroll tax accounts for various states and municipalities for clients.
- Research and resolve payroll tax notices.
- Audit payroll platforms and state tax portals to ensure all tax account information is complete and timely filed.
- Be organized and detail oriented to oversee and follow up on outstanding tax notices.
Requirements
- A minimum of an associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience (a plus).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of high-volume payroll tax related experience.
- CPA firm or state tax agency experience a plus.
- Experience running payroll within multiple US States a plus.
- ADP, Paycor, QuickBooks, Netchex, Paycom and Paylocity payroll systems experience a plus.
