About the role

  • You lead an Accounts Payable team of 6 employees (disciplinary responsibility) and support their professional and personal development.
  • You serve as the central subject-matter contact for all AP-related questions and ensure stable, GoB-compliant (German GAAP) processes.
  • Together with your team, you are responsible for end-to-end accounts payable processes in SAP S/4HANA – from invoice processing to account reconciliations.
  • You analyze outstanding items and payment due dates and derive concrete optimizations to improve efficiency, quality and scalability.
  • You actively drive automation and process improvements and work closely with Finance, Procurement and external partners.
  • You act as the point of contact for auditors and tax advisors on AP matters.

Requirements

  • Completed commercial vocational training or a degree in business administration
  • Several years of experience (approx. 4–8 years) in accounts payable
  • Strong knowledge of HGB (German GAAP); IFRS is a plus
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA or comparable systems
  • Initial leadership exposure (e.g., acting as deputy, providing functional guidance, leading projects) or a clear desire to grow into a people-management role
  • Excellent German and good English skills
