About the role

  • Develop and implement the business plan tailored to South African market dynamics, including corridor expansion and enterprise penetration.
  • Own revenue, margin, and country P&L.
  • Drive acquisition of strategic clients, renewals and high-value accounts.
  • Build deep partnerships with banks, fintechs, PSPs, wallets, remitters, marketplaces and enterprise clients.
  • Ensure compliance with South African regulatory requirements (FSCA, SARB compliance, licensing, AML/KYC standards).
  • Ensure smooth end-to-end customer journeys with strong retention, uptime, SLAs and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor moves, and local customer behavior.
  • Represent the company in industry forums, with regulators, partners and press.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in senior leadership, country strategy, or general management roles in fintech, payments, or financial services.
  • Proven commercial success in high-growth, regulated markets.
  • Strong P&L, budgeting, and financial management skills.
  • Deep understanding of South African payments, FX, and regulatory landscape.
