About the role
- Develop and implement the business plan tailored to South African market dynamics, including corridor expansion and enterprise penetration.
- Own revenue, margin, and country P&L.
- Drive acquisition of strategic clients, renewals and high-value accounts.
- Build deep partnerships with banks, fintechs, PSPs, wallets, remitters, marketplaces and enterprise clients.
- Ensure compliance with South African regulatory requirements (FSCA, SARB compliance, licensing, AML/KYC standards).
- Ensure smooth end-to-end customer journeys with strong retention, uptime, SLAs and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor market trends, competitor moves, and local customer behavior.
- Represent the company in industry forums, with regulators, partners and press.
Requirements
- 8+ years in senior leadership, country strategy, or general management roles in fintech, payments, or financial services.
- Proven commercial success in high-growth, regulated markets.
- Strong P&L, budgeting, and financial management skills.
- Deep understanding of South African payments, FX, and regulatory landscape.
