About the role
- Provide day-to-day technical and administrative support for GHS surveillance activities, including zoonotic disease and emerging infectious disease (ZD/EID) surveillance, following instructions from direct managers
- Support the implementation and monitoring of integrated and event-based surveillance (IBS/EBS), Points of Entry (PoE), and health information systems (HIS) activities by carrying out assigned tasks and maintaining records
- Track progress against assigned work plan tasks and report status to direct managers
- Support preparation of basic technical documents, reports, and presentations as requested
- Assist in organizing and preparing training and reference materials under supervision
- Identify basic operational issues or data gaps and communicate these to senior technical staff and managers for resolution
- Work collaboratively with project teams and partners to facilitate effective communication and support joint activities
- Other tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, epidemiology, preventive medicine, or equivalent
- Minimum of three years’ experience in supporting public health surveillance or health intervention programs
- Working knowledge of ZD/EID surveillance, including familiarity with IBS, EBS, multisectoral surveillance approaches, POE, and/or health information system
- Experience working with international NGOs and the Government of Vietnam (GVN) on to improve human and/or animal health outcomes
- Well-developed written and oral communication skills in both Vietnamese and English
- Proficiency in MS office package (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, etc.), database and spreadsheets with advance skills in at least two of the following programs: SPSS, Excel, Epi Info, Stata, SQL, and Power BI.
