About the role
- Monitor federal, state, and local employment law changes
- Maintain compliance calendars, audit schedules, Union administration and documentation requirements
- Conduct internal audits of HR files, I-9s, payroll practices, timekeeping, and other compliance-sensitive areas
- Identify potential compliance gaps and partner with HR leadership to remediate issues
- Educate HR partners and leaders on new regulatory requirements and risk-prevention practices
- Prepare compliance reports, audit summaries, and risk assessments for HR leadership
- Maintain accurate and secure records in accordance with legal and company requirements
- Support reporting obligations related to EEO-1, VETS, OSHA or other compliance reporting, as applicable
- Serve as an internal subject matter resource on HR compliance matters
- Assist with special projects involving compliance, systems enhancements, or regulatory changes
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
- Ability to analyze issues, identify risks, and recommend solutions
- Strong communication and training skills
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of HR, compliance, or employment-law-related experience
- Experience in complex regulatory environments
- Experience supporting employee relations or internal investigations
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or advanced compliance certification a plus
