About the role

  • Help deliver product stories that align with FCC priorities
  • Focus on driving adoption of the modern data platform
  • Support the wider data community
  • Work within a collaborative team that provides FCC’s data users with access to the right tools, technology and data through AWS
  • Manage AWS resources, ingest new data, provision access and enhance the efficiency and stability of data pipelines
  • Design and deliver hands-on training sessions, develop and update materials, and lead training activities as needed

Requirements

  • A degree in computer science or software engineering
  • Minimum two years of experience in software engineering practices (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Experience with data engineering tools, platforms and approaches
  • Experience building infrastructure as code (AWS CloudFormation)
  • Functional programming experience
  • Experience with data modelling, data warehouse building and creating data access layer
  • Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies and concepts
  • Ability to map legacy tools and technologies to modern AWS solutions
  • Experience with Informatica or any ETL tool
  • Experience with data observability and tools like DataHUB
  • Experience with Data Vault 2.0
