Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in similar roles
- Hands-on experience administering Apache Kafka in production, including installation, upgrades, cluster scaling and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with different Kafka distributions/flavors (Apache, Confluent Platform/Cloud, operators such as Strimzi and CFK) and their respective trade-offs (lock‑in, cost, enterprise features, etc.)
- Strong understanding of partitions, replication, consumer groups, offsets, etc.
- Experience with Kafka on Kubernetes using Operators (e.g., Strimzi or Confluent for Kubernetes), including management via CRDs and automation of deployment/upgrade processes
- Knowledge of observability and operational tools for Kafka (Prometheus/Grafana, Control Center, Kafka UI, etc.)
- Experience configuring and operating Debezium as part of a CDC stack (typically via Kafka Connect), including connector creation, tuning and monitoring
- Familiarity with common Debezium connectors (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server)
- Ability to understand technical requirements and solutions
- Good communication skills
- Critical thinking and focus on continuous improvement
- Strong delivery orientation with the ability to meet deadlines and objectives
