About the role
- Strategically manage the category, ensuring profitability, competitiveness and sustainable business growth through ongoing negotiations with suppliers, price and margin control, loss reduction, correct allocation of investments and assortment development.
- Category management: Conduct weekly negotiation meetings with suppliers addressing rebates, prices, margins, availability, opportunities, market intelligence (IC), planning, risks and VPC.
- Loss management: Re-negotiate non-moving items, PI, XX and FL to convert them into VL, eliminate losses and execute product phase-in and phase-out plans.
- IC management: Analyze competitor prices by channel and region, update selling prices together with the Pricing team and negotiate margin recovery with suppliers.
- Investment management: Validate and correct anomalies in negotiations, such as VPC percentages, overdue VPC, rebates, competitive actions and campaigns.
- Assortment and triangle management: Develop, execute and monitor the product assortment and the launch and line plan (10P’s), in alignment with Marketing, HR, Services, Supply and Channels teams.
- PIVA management: Prepare, together with the Planning department, an integrated sales plan by category and SKU, considering agreements from strategic supplier alliances.
- Ensuring correct direction: Hold weekly alignments and maintain daily communication with the sales team and channels to steer strategies and weekly focuses, identify and act on anomalies, and negotiate opportunities and packages.
- Development of new brands and exclusive products: Pursue the development of exclusive products and new brands with current suppliers or new partners, with a focus on innovation and increased profitability.
Requirements
- University degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Commercial Management or related fields.
- Experience in portfolio and long-tail management, with a focus on assortment, turnover, profitability and loss reduction.
- Proficiency in the SDCA cycle applied to management and continuous improvement.
- Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to interpret KPIs and support decision-making.
- Proficient use of Office Suite tools (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
