Conduct field based investigations by visiting policyholders’ homes to investigate property damage
Use claims handling software, a company car and laptop to determine claims related damage and write estimates in a paperless environment
Investigate, determine liability, confirm coverage, establish damages, and negotiate settlement of claims
Adjust all types of claims and inspect damaged property to estimate cost of repair or replacement
Determine and report on subrogation potential and initiate sale of salvage and personal property items
Report theft, fraud, and arson losses as required to state and industry agencies
Represent the Company from a public relations standpoint and conduct oneself as a member of Management
Use strong customer service skills to negotiate with policyholders to settle the claim
Travel may be required for mini CAT duty and catastrophe team members may be required to travel away from residence for specified periods, usually consisting of 23 days
Perform duties mostly on an individual basis while maintaining communication with policyholders, agents, repair facilities, investigators, attorneys, medical professionals and others
Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Eagerness to learn about insurance policies and property damage
Outgoing personality to interact with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, and investigators
Valid driver's license
Final candidates subject to Motor Vehicle Record background check (position may include a company vehicle)
Able to adapt to ever changing technology
Must maintain an active adjusters license in states where required

Physical ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities (climb ladders, navigate uneven surfaces, etc.)
