Lead the portion of the FP&A team responsible for compiling analysis to support underlying Statutory and GAAP investment portfolio results
Responsible for the timely output of data, analytics and insights that articulate a clear understanding of the results of the Company’s investment portfolio
Manage the team through the execution of existing processes to deliver investment results to the Investment Committee, Investor Relations and Rating Agencies
Provide guidance and leadership in the creation of more scalable processes that support broader organizational goals
Use advanced understanding of investments to assist in developing the narrative for investment portfolio performance
Assist with the design and delivery of investment results for executive-level presentations, ensuring alignment with corporate FP&A strategy
Collaborate with other areas of Finance and Investments on how to improve upon the integration of various data sources
Lead and mentor the team to ensure production of deliverables are completed timely and accurately
Collaborate with other areas of the organization to understand the needs for additional ad-hoc investment results
Report directly to the Investment FP&A leader and manage 2 to 3 direct reports
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
A minimum of 7 years’ experience in investment accounting, investment reporting and/or financial planning & analysis
Prior experience supervising or managing a team
Experience with GAAP and statutory accounting for insurance company general account portfolios (preferred)
CPA, CFA and/or MBA (preferred)
Strong Statutory and GAAP accounting and reporting knowledge for limited partnerships, fixed income investments, and structured securities
High level of proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with SQL, Tableau and Alteryx a plus
Strong experience with accounting subledger and ledgers, investment data, databases and report writing
Ability to handle multiple complex tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Ability to collaborate with other teams, challenge current processes and drive efficiencies
Regular and punctual attendance
Some travel required (less than 10%)
