About the role

  • Lead the portion of the FP&A team responsible for compiling analysis to support underlying Statutory and GAAP investment portfolio results
  • Responsible for the timely output of data, analytics and insights that articulate a clear understanding of the results of the Company’s investment portfolio
  • Manage the team through the execution of existing processes to deliver investment results to the Investment Committee, Investor Relations and Rating Agencies
  • Provide guidance and leadership in the creation of more scalable processes that support broader organizational goals
  • Use advanced understanding of investments to assist in developing the narrative for investment portfolio performance
  • Assist with the design and delivery of investment results for executive-level presentations, ensuring alignment with corporate FP&A strategy
  • Collaborate with other areas of Finance and Investments on how to improve upon the integration of various data sources
  • Lead and mentor the team to ensure production of deliverables are completed timely and accurately
  • Collaborate with other areas of the organization to understand the needs for additional ad-hoc investment results
  • Report directly to the Investment FP&A leader and manage 2 to 3 direct reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in investment accounting, investment reporting and/or financial planning & analysis
  • Prior experience supervising or managing a team
  • Experience with GAAP and statutory accounting for insurance company general account portfolios (preferred)
  • CPA, CFA and/or MBA (preferred)
  • Strong Statutory and GAAP accounting and reporting knowledge for limited partnerships, fixed income investments, and structured securities
  • High level of proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with SQL, Tableau and Alteryx a plus
  • Strong experience with accounting subledger and ledgers, investment data, databases and report writing
  • Ability to handle multiple complex tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to collaborate with other teams, challenge current processes and drive efficiencies
  • Regular and punctual attendance
  • Some travel required (less than 10%)
