Act as strategic financial advisor to the Americas commercial organization and proactively advise on critical financial matters of moderate complexity.
Analyze management information, review and communicate monthly results with the regional commercial leadership team.
Prepare and deliver monthly financial performance presentations to senior leadership, communicating key insights, market trends, variances, and actionable recommendations.
Partner with commercial organization on customer margin: pricing recommendations, trend/comparative analysis, and provide perspective on full financial portfolio.
Partner with Marketing, Operations, and Global Business Services teams to streamline processes and support cross-department initiatives.
Coordinate, prepare and facilitate timely completion of monthly forecasting and annual budget processes; support consolidation of annual budgets/long range plans.
Build and maintain robust financial and operational data models using Anaplan, Power BI, and Power Query to support forecasting, scenario planning, and strategic decision-making.
Monitor and analyze operating expenses to ensure alignment with budget targets.
Partner with cross-functional teams to optimize net working capital, improve cash flow, and drive cost-efficiency across the organization.
Augment individual business-specific finance resources on ad hoc projects as needed.
Reports to the Sr. Finance Business Partner – CST Global Commercial with a dotted-line to the VP/Regional Business Director PC Americas. Based in Billerica, MA; eligible for Flexible Working Arrangement / Hybrid model.
Requirements
University degree in Finance or Accounting
MBA a plus
7+ years FP&A and/or business finance experience (i.e. budgeting, forecasting, developing reports to analyze reports and trends, etc)
Experience with management information and ERP systems (i.e. JDE, OBI or SAP, Power BI/Power Query, etc)
Understands accounting, ERP and management reporting system interdependencies
Strong Excel skills including ability to mine/manipulate data, clean, troubleshoot, and analyze information using database, formulas, power query/pivots, etc
Experience reviewing and interpreting large amounts of data and provide insight regarding observable trends
Strong knowledge of financial principles and their application in a business setting, including financial discounted cash flow, cost / benefit, payback and other modeling with multiple scenarios
Chemical manufacturing or similar industrial organization highly preferred
Sound business acumen including the ability to quickly develop a broad understanding of Cabot’s business models, products and markets
Ability to make decisions and take initiative in the absence of perfect information and to respond to issues quickly and effectively
Ability to build trust and gain support of personnel across the organization
Aptitude for learning new reporting, management information systems and other technology quickly
High level communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to adapt presentation style to suit audience and ensure effective information delivery to various stakeholder levels
