About the role

  • Manage and review engagement and other commercial agreements.
  • Provide timely and pro-active legal advice.
  • Draft and negotiate engagement documentation with clients.
  • Advice to service lines on legal and regulatory risks associated with engagements.
  • Develop and maintain standard templates.
  • Work closely with Compliance team to ensure compliance with new laws and regulations.
  • Provide legal advice to management and functional teams.
  • Provide legal advice and support on employment and partnership related issue.

Requirements

  • University law degree
  • 5 years of post-qualification legal experience, ideally including both international law firm and in-house experience with an international financial services organization.
  • Strong legal skills (drafting and analytical).
  • Ability to analyze complex legal problems and develop suitable solutions.
  • Strong commercial awareness, understanding of business, corporate governance and regulatory issues.
  • Fluency in both English and Chinese.
  • Familiarity with financial and audit services regulatory matters, company law, employment law, intellectual property and cross-border issues.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to execute multiple tasks with attention to detail.
  • Understanding of when issues need to be reported or escalated.
  • Flexible team player, strategic thinker, solutions-oriented, problem solver.
  • Must be qualified as an attorney through the national bar examination.
