About the role
- Establish and maintain relationships with strategic suppliers worldwide from a commercial and contractual perspective.
- Develop new sourcing channels and establish strategic alliances.
- Develop business strategies for negotiations.
- Lead and participate in category development by managing projects that include preparing business cases.
- Lead, develop and execute the category strategy and provide senior management with status updates on projects and negotiations.
- Identify, analyze, and realize cost-reduction opportunities.
- Create and maintain formal internal and external networks.
- Act as the single point of contact with suppliers for new business opportunities.
- Support sites and/or business units with appropriate procurement strategies.
- Coordinate and lead claim negotiations with suppliers in support of production issues.
- Support business units in enforcing contractual remedies in the event of significant breaches.
- Lead contractual negotiations with suppliers.
- Ensure contracts are maintained in accordance with company requirements.
- Support other supply chain agents in their contractual negotiations, commercial agreements, product change negotiations, and contract amendments.
- Participate in the governance of cost-reduction initiatives and ensure project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, Supply Chain, or equivalent.
- Four (4) to eight (8) years of relevant experience.
- Experience in the aerospace industry and/or a manufacturing environment and/or program management in a commercial role — an asset.
- Excellent negotiation skills and project management experience.
- Meticulous, detail-oriented, and committed to meeting deadlines.
- A team player recognized for leadership, innovation, and the ability to mobilize a team.
- Strong communication skills in both French and English (spoken and written).
- Strong operational and financial management skills.
- Comfortable with complex technical subjects and knowledgeable in legal terminology or contract interpretation.
- Familiar with Just-In-Time logistics, integrated supply chain concepts, and lean manufacturing.
- Proficient with MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Bilingual (French and English).
