Apply & continue to develop a breadth of engineering skills in Naval Architecture and related disciplines.
Define & conduct engineering analyses, technical studies and research & development projects to deliver high quality solutions to customers and clients.
Investigate & solve complex technical problems in concept, basic and detailed design phases.
Develop & maintain written technical and administrative procedures, standards, processes, practices, guidelines, and standards.
Assist with the maintenance & improvement of quality standards of engineering, design, and production information.
Interface directly with customers and clients, representing teams to discuss engineering solutions to complex problems.
Requirements
Degree qualified in a relevant STEM discipline (e.g., Naval Architecture, Ship Science, Marine Technology, Marine Engineering), or equivalent experience in the naval and commercial ship design, construction, or maintenance domain.
Professional member of a relevant engineering institution (e.g., RINA, IMarEST, IMechE, IET).
Recognised as an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer by the UK Engineering Council (or an ability to achieve within 12 months).

An understanding of the role of a Naval Architect throughout all stages of the design lifecycle.
An understanding of classification society rules, regulations, and standards in the design, construction, and in-service lifecycle phases.
Minimum of 4 years post-graduate experience (8 years for non-degree qualified).
Experience in at least one key technical area: hydrostatic, seakeeping & stability analysis; propulsion, resistance & powering; hydrodynamic & manoeuvring analysis; marine structure design & analysis; ship design including hull form, superstructure, arrangement & outfitting.
Experience of using Naval Architecture design & analysis software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MaxSurf, NAPA, Aveva, Paramarine, Orcaflex, Ansys Structural/Fluent, MatLab, MS Excel).
Experience of whole ship design including assessment of performance, design integration, construction, and through-life maintenance.
Experience of working in multi-company and multi-discipline engineering teams with effective communication skills.
Experience in a technical consulting environment, leading and/or supporting multiple engineering projects & customers.
Willingness/ability to work in an environment regulated by Trade Control legislation and with controlled goods, technology and/or services.
Naval projects may require sole UK nationality and eligibility for Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.
