About the role

  • Conduct technical site surveys and monitor construction progress.
  • Contribute to the drafting, analysis and review of studies and technical expert reports.
  • Design and produce mechanical building plans and specifications (ventilation systems, heating and cooling systems, plumbing, utilities and various networks such as compressed air, steam, potable water, non-potable water, hot glycol, cold glycol, etc.) in compliance with the Building Code, applicable standards and project guidelines.
  • Support the integration of technical data into BIM models and ensure interdisciplinary consistency.
  • Ensure adherence to deliverables, schedules and the quality of produced drawings and technical documents.
  • Participate in construction cost evaluations and contribute to budget preparation.
  • Take part in project kick-off and coordination meetings.
  • Ensure engineering work is executed in accordance with EXP’s quality standards, applicable norms and contractual documents.
  • Keep up to date with products, standards, methods and technologies.
  • Perform any other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in building engineering, mechanical engineering or a related discipline considered equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in building mechanical engineering, preferably in consulting engineering.
  • Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • Knowledge of current building codes and applicable standards.
  • Proficiency in French, both spoken and written.
  • Strong team spirit, collaborative mindset and solution-oriented approach.
  • Rigour and attention to detail, with high quality standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Natural leadership, proactivity and the ability to drive projects forward with confidence and openness.
