About the role
- The Payroll Administrator is responsible for monitoring all tasks necessary to accomplish the organization’s payroll processing objectives, including cross functioning with Human Resources and other managers.
- This position is primarily responsible for planning and coordinating companywide payroll initiatives.
- This position requires an extremely detail oriented person with significant knowledge of payroll administration, as well as, a high level of confidentiality when dealing with sensitive employee and organizational information.
- Coordinates efforts with Human Resources to maintain accurate and complete employee files.
- Oversees the timekeeping solution for Ideal Option.
- Develops and maintains the payroll process.
- Coordinates efforts with HR and other supervisors to ensure that employee raises, and bonuses are properly authorized and documented in the employee’s file and/or payroll file.
- Coordinates benefits onboarding administration with HR (health insurance, 401k, H.S.A., PTO etc).
- Responds to inquiries from employees regarding compensation packages (base rates, health insurance deductions, 401k deferrals, H.S.A. deferrals, PTO utilization, etc).
- Ensures data integrity associated with timecards and PTO accruals.
- Documents infrequent/unusual payroll items on an exception report for each payroll processed by the Company.
- Coordinates and processes third party payroll requests (garnishments, income verification requests, child support requests, etc).
- Ensures payroll taxes and other miscellaneous deductions are accurate, complete and remits accurate and complete payments for said deductions.
- Processes various company differential incentive programs.
- Complies with national PHI laws including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive organizational information.
- Maintains continual sustained attendance.
- Works cooperatively with others and as part of the Ideal Option team.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3 or more years of payroll experience required.
- Multi-state payroll experience required.
- High level of emotional intelligence.
- Experience processing payroll for more than 200 employees required.
- Advanced experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in Paylocity or payroll systems for a Minimum of 1 Year.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field from an accredited institution preferred.
- Some accounting experience preferred.
