About the role

  • Drives medical policy coverage initiatives, contracting strategies and payer utilization programs within assigned national, regional and local payers
  • Supports Market Access strategy and implementation on a national level, including new markets
  • Liaises with revenue cycle management and legal, and makes recommendations on billing, fee schedule maintenance and payer strategy
  • Calls on payer organizations that impact reimbursement nationally, selling products within payer quality and other utilization programs
  • Develops coverage policy for new products, provides technical and administrative product information and responds to requests for proposals
  • Leads complex negotiations with national and regional payers, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and maximizing contract value
  • Cultivates and expands long-term partnerships with existing insurance providers to enhance collaboration and contract performance
  • Promotes diagnostic solutions within payer quality initiatives and utilization management programs to secure product inclusion and support adoption
  • Acts as a Market Access advisor to field leadership, shaping regional strategies and guiding execution to exceed commercial targets
  • Negotiates optimal reimbursement rates and terms to ensure financial sustainability and market competitiveness of diagnostic offerings
  • Establishes and maintains detailed records of payer interactions, tracking progress and outcomes to inform future engagement strategies

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to essential duties; or associate’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 4 years of relevant experience
  • 10+ years of experience in any of the following areas: Contracting and coverage with large payers, medical group contracting, sales, or sales leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation
