About the role

  • Develop and prepare engineering drawings, models and plans from sketches, preliminary concepts, engineering calculations and descriptive specifications
  • Ensure drawings comply with specification documents and design data
  • Produce manufacturing drawings according to requirements and release them to production
  • Complete customer documentation for maintenance and spare parts
  • Adapt standard mechanical designs to meet specific customer needs
  • Calculate dimensional chains and specify geometric tolerances for each part in accordance with applicable standards
  • Ensure part manufacturability and validate assemblies (DFM/A)
  • Support system integration in the laboratory and update drawings as required (as-built)
  • Process engineering changes through the ECN (Engineering Change Notice) process
  • Analyze and resolve raised issues using a structured approach
  • Work closely with your supervisor and colleagues to prioritize, track and communicate tasks and projects
  • Perform other related duties as requested by your supervisor

Requirements

  • D.E.P. in Industrial Drafting or D.E.C. in Mechanical Engineering
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in drafting and design of high-technology products
  • Experience with SolidEdge, SolidWorks and/or Inventor is an asset
  • Knowledge and experience with ERP and PLM software is an asset
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
