About the role

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee the daily operations of the EVG Specialty Network, ensuring efficient processes, high-quality patient care, and exceptional client experiences across all hospitals.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to develop and implement strategic plans that support the company’s mission, growth, and long-term success.
  • Financial Management: Work closely with the Director of Finance to manage the budget, control costs, and optimize financial performance. Ensure all operational activities are cost-effective and align with financial objectives.
  • Performance Management: Establish performance metrics, goals, and KPIs for hospital managers and department heads. Monitor progress, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary changes.
  • Talent Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing operations team. Oversee recruitment, retention, and professional development of hospital management and support staff.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all hospitals comply with regulatory standards, industry best practices, and internal policies to maintain a high standard of veterinary care and patient safety.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, patient care, and client satisfaction across the network.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with other executive leaders in finance, HR, marketing, and other departments to align operational activities with overall business goals.
  • Business Development: Support growth initiatives, including acquisitions, expansions, and partnerships, by providing operational insights and managing integration processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior operational leadership role, preferably within the veterinary specialty care sector.
  • Proven track record of driving operational excellence, managing complex projects, and achieving financial and operational goals.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
  • Ability to think strategically, execute tactically, and navigate complex organizational challenges.
  • Experience with financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed to support operational needs and business development.
  • Must be located in the Eastern Time Zone and within close proximity to a major airport.
