About the role

  • Cross-Functional Leadership Work: cross-functionally to lead and support the Sales process in ALL areas needed.
  • Represent Field Sales in business unit meetings and ensure they are up-to-speed on internal activity, considerations and key decisions.
  • Lead development of selling stories on core & innovation with customers in partnership with Sales team, analyzing and providing insights from customer-specific, syndicated, and panel data.
  • Partner with external partners to help define and deliver value.
  • Own trade show planning as it pertains to sales team needs and customer interactions.
  • Budget Planning & Trade Management: Own annual Budget-planning process with Sales working cross-functionally to align on key dates, objectives, and results.
  • Partner with Sales and brokers to track trade spend vs. Budget, promotional effectiveness, and identify key learnings for future growth.
  • Owns 4Ps: Optimize in-store and online product assortments, pricing, and promotional strategies, working to drive growth while spending within trade budget rate.
  • Partner with Brand on SKU prioritization and optimization, balanced with innovation ranking.
  • Track pricing monthly to ensure retail pricing is aligned with MAP policy and promotions drive growth without market disruption, and evaluate pricing action opportunities annually.
  • Develop placement recommendations to share with retailers.
  • Brand Growth & Performance: Own and manage the P&L for the full business, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Measure shipment trend at mid-month making adjusted call, while working upsides and downsides with Sales to call fully-informed forecast.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7-10 years of Sales experience in CPG; strong track record in Sales Planning/Operations
  • A strategic leader who is willing to dig into the work with the Sales Team and partner cross-functionally to get stuff done and build sound business processes (a true “Team Player”)
  • Articulate communicator; ability to change information into insights for actionable growth
  • A deep knowledge of and sales experience working with retail channels across Mass, Food, Drug, Specialty and Natural
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to both think strategically and act as a diplomatic, detail-oriented tactician
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work within tight timeframes while hitting deadlines consistently
  • Ability to independently assess data, integrate into selling stories and leverage it to grow our business
  • Demonstrated ability to make thoughtful, strategic business decisions and provide clear and consistent direction
  • Strong technical skills: Google Suite, forecasting tools, and other required computer applications.
