About the role
- Analyzes processes and data and converts this into value added thinking and information and actionable insights
- Identifies opportunities for process change or continuous improvement and participates in the acceptance and implementation of the change including the development of in-house analytics tools
- Understands information technology solutions and how they apply to business needs
- Performs or assists in ad-hoc querying and reporting as requested by Eversource management or personnel
- Works with various departments throughout the Company analyzing data and processes and translates their needs into optimization and analytics models and processes
- Develops reports, prepares and delivers presentations, writes procedures and performs other activities as needed
- Responsible for storm restoration and emergency assignments
- Oversees work as needed including internal and external regulatory reporting, story telling and gets involved in internal and external stakeholder engagement
Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in a quantitative field
- Minimum of three years of industry experience in data analytics or data engineering
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, statistical and mathematical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, charts and building functions, required
- Experience with electrical utilities and electrical distribution systems, preferred
- Demonstrated programming experience with SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, Access, SQLite, Python, R and MatLab
- Familiarity with PowerBI reporting is a plus
- Familiarity with optimization, machine learning models, risk-based models and probabilistic analysis
