Job Level
About the role
- Empower the Architects
- Act as a cohesive architecture team leader, working collaboratively with other architects to drive change and ensure consistent practices across products/teams and domains.
- Onboard, mentor, and grow architects by aligning goals, priorities, responsibilities, and expectations.
- Facilitate team-wide clarity on architectural pillars, decision-making approaches, and governance processes.
- Promote a strong team identity (“team power”), ensuring architects coordinate effectively, support one another, and operate with a unified vision.
- Validate and Shape Technical Designs
- Validate business requirements from a technical perspective and translate them into actionable, well-reasoned solution designs.
- While ensure that Group standards are applied, contribute to their evolutions, with innovative proposals
- Use Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) to make decisions explicit, including the rationale and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) considerations.
- Define and Steward System-Wide Architecture
- Contribute to a coherent architecture across teams by defining a clear set of architecture pillars and ensuring they are followed.
- Maintain updated system documentation, including diagrams, data flows, metadata, and integration views.
- Promote simplification and ensure architecture decisions support overall strategy, speed of delivery, and maintainability.
- Lead Azure Solution Architecture
- Guide the organisation in designing and building effectively on Azure.
- Help the organisation choose the right level of abstraction along the cloud spectrum — from flexible IaaS → CaaS → PaaS → FaaS — balancing portability, engineering effort, and delivery speed.
- Define cloud foundations: governance, identity & access, security-by-design, compliance, cost optimisation, observability, performance, and reliability.
- Ensure technical choices leverage appropriate Azure services or custom components when justified.
- Champion Software Quality and Non-Functional Requirements
- Define non-functional needs such as performance, scalability, resilience, monitoring, and configuration management.
- Ensure modern SDLC practices are applied, including secure coding, zero-trust principles, threat modelling, regulatory compliance, and reliability engineering (SRE concepts, SLAs, metrics, resilience patterns).
- Collaborate and Communicate Effectively
- Promote a collaborative, respectful, and supportive culture where architecture empowers teams to do their best work.
- Work closely with distributed teams and stakeholders to align technical decisions with business priorities.
- Communicate architecture at multiple levels — from executive summaries to detailed design sessions.
- Support estimation, planning, and budgeting with clear architectural input.
- Serve and Enable the Organization
- Act as a trusted partner to product owners, developers, tech leads, and stakeholders, helping them make better technical decisions with clarity and confidence.
- Demonstrate a genuine passion for enabling teams — removing friction, simplifying complexity, and ensuring architecture is a service that supports delivery rather than a barrier.
- Mentor architects and developers on solution design, architecture patterns, and best practices.
- Support skills governance by helping identify expertise gaps (e.g., Azure, integration, observability) and promoting training and upskilling initiatives.
- Help teams understand decision trade-offs and align on consistent ways of working.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science or related field, with 5-10 years in a similar architecture role.
- Proven experience in Solution Architecture, particularly in designing distributed systems and cloud-based platforms.
- Strong understanding of Azure services, architectural trade-offs, cloud governance, and cost-awareness.
- Familiarity with concepts such as event-driven architecture, integration patterns, API management, and container strategies.
- Experience working with system documentation, ADRs, modelling methods (e.g., UML), and architecture frameworks.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF or similar).
- Exposure to C# (.NET Core), SQL Server/PostgreSQL, or frontend technologies to facilitate collaboration, deployment pipelines and DevOps practices — but not as primary responsibilities.
Benefits
- 13 monthly salaries per year
- Meal Vouchers
- Gym Reimbursement
- Medical Subscription
- Health Insurance
- 25 days of holidays + 1 extra day off for your birthday
- Additional holidays for your loyalty
