About the role
- Create and manage daily content offerings including newsletters, digital video series, US public television show, podcasts, and branded content as needed
- Write, edit, and create content and oversee the work of reporters and creators
- Variously curate, edit, and create content for website, daily newsletters, social channels, and short-form videos
- Manage a small team of content creators, investing in their career growth and long-term professional success
- Work as a player-coach and perform routine operational work as needed, such as building and deploying newsletters
- Provide thought partnerships for graphics and data-driven content, including the Graphic Truth series
- Produce podcasts and branded content projects when required
- Work directly with the Chief Content Officer to improve and innovate content strategy and execution
- This position reports directly to the Global Chief Content Officer
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience working in an active digital newsroom, preferably having covered global affairs, politics, and/or foreign policy
- Experience managing a team of at least 5 creators, including establishing efficient workflows and mentoring reporters and creators
- The ability to present ideas and concepts clearly and succinctly across multiple formats
- Familiarity with both video and text reporting and production
- Newsletter experience is a plus
- Impeccable attention to details and facts
- A strong understanding of how to tailor and publish content that works for specific channels—TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.
- Deep curiosity about the world and an insatiable appetite for news and global affairs content
