About the role

  • Serve as strategic communication partner to the BU President and leadership team, using communication to drive objectives, change, performance, and culture.
  • Lead the development and execution of the BU’s internal communication plans to ensure engagement and effective communication infrastructure across the global BU.
  • Define objectives, priorities, and messaging for external communication based on BU commercial needs, guiding Group and Country execution and managing BU-specific initiatives.
  • Ensure all BU communication aligns with Essity’s corporate communication strategy, policies, and guidelines.
  • Optimize the use of communication resources, capabilities, and assets (processes, tools, channels, messages).
  • Represent the BU in Group level internal and external communication activities and content development.
  • Support the Public Affairs agenda based on BU needs, ensuring clear priorities and alignment with Group.
  • Lead issues and crisis communication management for the BU, coordinating with Country and Group stakeholders.
  • Oversee communication for M&A and divestiture activities related to the BU.
  • Contribute to the development of Essity’s communication function as part of the Communication Leadership Team (strategy, objectives, plans, policies, brand positioning, priorities).
  • Ensure effective communication alignment between the Personal Care BU and the Consumer Tissue BU, as well as other BUs.

Requirements

  • University Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum 10 years of senior communication leadership experience in an international FMCG organization.
  • Track record leading and executing communication strategies across multiple regions within a complex international organization.
  • Ability to both strategize and execute communication deliverables.
  • Proven crisis management expertise (having successfully led at least two major crises, incident, or transformation communication situations across multiple markets)
  • Strong listener with the ability to gather insights and translate input into effective communication strategies.
  • Strong leader with the ability to create effective internal and external networks.
  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel.
