About the role
- Oversee the design architecture for new systems
- Align with business goals, industry practices, and policing security protocols
- Collaborate with development teams, suppliers, product owners, and stakeholders
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Provide technical guidance, designs, and solution mentorship to IT team members
- Lead a team of designers, giving guidance, leadership, and management
- Chair the Force Technical Design Authority
- Represent Kent Police and Essex Police at regional and national Police TDAs
- Manage reactive Critical Incidents to ensure return to function of failing IT services
Requirements
- Proven experience in technical architecture
- Strong understanding of various technologies and platforms
- Experience/production of High and Low level system designs
- Knowledge and application of baseline security principles, functional and non-functional requirements
- Education to degree level with an appropriate IT professional qualification
- Extensive knowledge of policing and business operating environments
- Project Management Principles: experience of solution delivery from design, procurement, delivery and post support
- Passion for technology with understanding of current and emerging information and communication technologies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Managerial skills: Ability to motivate and inspire those within a team
