About the role
- Lead, manage, and mentor the quotation team for liquid-filled transformer products, to continue to improve product knowledge, responsiveness, and customer service.
- Own and refine pricing strategy in alignment with market dynamics and customer needs.
- Calculate and manage pricing indices based on commodity cost fluctuations.
- Analyze quote win/loss trends to identify pricing opportunities and optimize success rates, with a focus on understanding, reporting, and working with engineering resources on quote declines/no-bids.
- Conduct bill of material (BOM) cost analyses and comparisons to inform pricing decisions.
- Maintain and manage pricing files and systems to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
- Develop and implement strategic product configuration strategies that reduce size/weight while maintaining compliance with customer specifications.
- Deliver clear, concise presentations of complex analysis to internal leadership.
- Partner with Sales, Product Management, and Engineering to align pricing strategies with broader business goals, ensuring accurate and up-to-date cost inputs for quotations.
- Coordinate and manage the end-to-end RFP response process, ensuring timely, accurate, and competitive submissions, including maintaining a repository of RFP templates, standard language, and response collateral to streamline future submissions.
- Conduct market and demand trend analysis to inform pricing strategies and customer engagement plans.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Engineering teams to support new customer acquisition strategies and execution.
- Drive process improvements across pricing and quotation workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Identify and implement automation solutions to streamline operations (e.g., front-end portal for capturing bid requests from customers).
- Design and establish a standardized process for document repository and sharing to ensure accessibility and version control.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field preferred)
- Highly analytical, with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel skills required; experience with pricing and/or quotation (i.e., CPQ) tools, ERP, or data visualization platforms a plus.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify and present complex data.
- Prior experience in the transformer or utility industry strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment.
- Experience managing or leading teams.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) preferred.
- Familiarity with automation tools and technologies for pricing and quotation workflows preferred.
- Knowledge of front-end portal development or integration for customer bid submissions preferred.
- Expertise in designing and managing document repositories and version control systems preferred.
- Proficiency with CPQ platforms and ERP systems preferred.
- Strong project management skills to lead cross-functional initiatives.
