About the role

  • Lead transformative social performance strategies that shape the future of responsible development across Canada and beyond
  • Help clients understand and mitigate social risks, build trusted community relationships, and align with global expectations for sustainable and ethical project delivery
  • Shape project strategies, elevate delivery quality, and serve as a trusted technical advisor
  • Play a key role in ERM’s global Social Performance Technical Community—sharing insights, advancing best practices, and helping clients respond to human, social, and community-related challenges
  • Mentor junior team members, drive high-value work, and ensure ERM remains a leader in social risk, stakeholder engagement, and responsible project development
  • Drive oversight and quality assurance for data collection, management, and analysis across multiple project types
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary ERM teams across Canada and international offices to deliver high-quality work
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including Federal, Provincial, and Local Government representatives, Indigenous groups, and community organizations
  • Lead proposal development, including crafting technical scopes, timelines, and cost estimates
  • Prepare and manage health and safety for field-based and community-facing activities
  • Lead and monitor project management activities such as task delegation, subcontractor oversight, commercial performance tracking, health & safety management, quality reviews, and client interaction

Requirements

  • A recognized degree in social science or a related discipline
  • 4+ years of demonstrable experience, ideally within the consulting sector
  • Proven experience contributing to socio-economic and land-use baselines, social impact assessments, human rights impact assessments, social performance and engagement management plans, or similar scopes of work across Canada or internationally
  • Strong project management capabilities, including work planning, budgeting, scheduling, and project controls
  • Understanding of the expectations of sustainable financial organizations regarding their risk review and evaluation of projects, including experience with the Equator Principles and International Finance Corporate Performance Standards
  • Excellent writing, communication, and strategic thinking skills with strong attention to detail
  • Experience translating technical content into visually appealing and plain-language formats
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with clients, colleagues, and diverse stakeholders
