About the role

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based solutions within the Microsoft Azure platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of Azure services.
  • Deploy and configure Azure resources, including virtual machines, databases, storage, and networking components.
  • Manage Azure cloud environment, including provisioning, configuration, performance monitoring, and policy governance.
  • Be security conscious and aware of potential security risks and threats.
  • Implement robust security measures for Azure environments.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents related to Azure.
  • Design, develop, and implement highly available, multi-region solutions within Microsoft Azure.
  • Analyze existing operational standards, processes, and/or governance to identify and implement improvements.
  • Migrate existing infrastructure services to cloud-based solutions.
  • Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Azure Resource Manager templates) to automate provisioning and configuration.
  • Maintain Azure configurations as code for consistency and repeatability.
  • Develop and implement policy driven data protection best practices to ensure cloud solutions are protected from data loss.
  • Support cloud adoption of applications during migration and upgrades.
  • Participation in ongoing and future Cloud Operations Projects from planning/specification to execution and sign-off.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide technical expertise when evaluating new systems and services or supporting in project implementations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in supporting the cloud infrastructure in a mid to large organization.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field, as well as relevant work experience in cloud computing, IT operations, or infrastructure management.
  • Azure Certification in cloud computing preferred.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Microsoft Azure and cloud computing, having worked extensively in this environment.
  • Proficiency in Azure services, including Virtual Machines, Azure SQL Database, Azure Storage, and Azure Networking.
  • Familiarity with Azure Active Directory, Azure Security Centre, and Azure Monitor.
  • Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, or other relevant languages.
  • Must be knowledgeable in using Azure CLI, Azure PowerShell, Terraform, Azure ARM templates, Serverless 360 and other tools.
